good break so far

i love Christmas break! my dad has been cooking good food for me (!!), and i've gotten to spend good times with my family; our Cryderman Progressive Dinner on sunday was a blast! i've also memorized my lines save a few times- my character is the assistant director and keeps track of the time left before they go on the air, aka i have to remember which time goes with which line after which cue!- but i'll get it. today tessa and i went shopping while mom and aunt lisa went out to eat, and we had a lot of fun, including getting lost in JC Penny, sad i know. but now i'm off to bed. Hope you're all having a good break too!

crazy crazy crazy

don't you love how everything happens the week before Christmas? the elementary Christmas musicals, shopping, teachers trying to cram whatever stuff they want us to learn before the 2 week break, and goodness knows what else! i volunteered to tech the bean el. musical, which took place on monday, and so i ended up missing the end of 2nd hour, all of 3rd hour and lunch helping with their dress rehearsal. then in choir i happened to be standing with mr. rudland when he was talking to mr. gibbs about needing some people to tech the ms select choir assembly, mr. gibbs said "chloe can do it!" so i missed 1st hour on tuesday for that. also drama rehearsals- just reading though- were monday-wednesday after school until 5pm (the play is called "who's dying to be a millionaire" and is a comedy). and today is our choir concert that we're not ready for at all! all i can say is i'm hoping for a snow day tomorrow!!

it was a good day on a bad day...

cast list goes up today 6th hour. i have a migraine im so nervous and feel like i cant eat. one thing about me thats strange is the way i get nervous and stressed out; subconsciously. not consciously. like i dont think about it at all but my body is nervous and anxious for me causing headaches, stomachaches, ect. so anyway i had the worst headache all day and one of my good friends who's going through a rough time was having a break down and a bad day so i had to be there for him and ignore my own (physical) pain. it seemed like everyones emotions were running high today- like everyone was bi-polar or something it was weird. but anyhoo after 6th hour i went to mr. dyers room to see the cast list... and i looked for my name... and almost gasped. i was cast as one of my top three choices, Cleo (yeah yeah the name makes it funny) the wise cracking assistant director!!! i didnt have time to other names till the end of the day and- with one exception- i was pretty happy and am super excited! so now i have to have all my lines memorized by the time we come back from break. it was really sad to see my friends who hadnt gotten parts though- made me want to cry.

gotta love those 12 hr days!

AUDITIONS TODAY! i was ecstatic and slightly nervous but i couldnt wait! it is just a freshman and sophomore show so i dont have to compete with upper classman which is nice too. everything went pretty well and i think im happy with my performance but im not so sure on getting the part(s) i want. we'll see tomorrow i guess (cast list goes up)! after auditions i helped out with the middle school choir concert which was fun. good job Parker! love the all guys song! so thats about it at the moment... night!

WOW!

wow does time fly by! as you've probably noticed, i havent been keeping this updated. yeah well i've been grounded from the computer since september. before you gasp let me explain though! it was homecoming week and i got home around 8pm maybe earlier and i was so busy that i left my 5 minutes of hw till i got home. my mom didnt like that too much and said i couldnt stay after the next day. i didnt like that so much so i bargained and ended up being grounded from the computer till thanksgiving. the end. okay moving on! well tons and tons of things have happened! my first (on stage) show- so i was an extra big deal, it was still SO much fun as always! for the first marking period my GPA is 3.957 which i guess i can live with- im shooting for a 4.0! and i now have a facebook! i cant think of any big events other than that... well i'll be doing a better job now of keeping you updated! night!

the best week ever

so this week was Homecoming week, so that means Spirit Week for the school and lots of work to be done for Student Council. i was on formal committee which meant that i- along with several others- had to put on the formal assembly on friday where the court was introduced and such. we started work on monday and stayed after every day til as late as possible (10 or so) but i had to leave around 8pm. so we built and painted and cut and drilled and spray painted until we were all a little crazy (possibly a bit high from spray paint as well) and had an absolute blast doing it all! i cant even describe how fun it was working with everyone! i figured out that i had spent almost the equivalent of 2 weeks that week also! then our assembly came and went perfectly! we were all so happy! and the dance that night was even more fun! good times that cant be described are the best i'd say!

homecoming, auditions and parties oh my!

okay which to start with... well first: today was an audition day for the play this November (second day is thursday) and even though i had to leave early for piano i got a chance to get up and read a part! i felt pretty good about it, im sure i could have done better, but i was loud, had a pretty good British accent (if i do say so myself!!), i think i looked pretty confident- i wasnt like rocking back and forth or shaking or anything, but i think i was a little red faced- especially afterwords when i actually AM really nervous! but day two will be even better for me!

second: homecoming is on the 26th and guess what... i have a date. now keep your thoughts to yourself until after you finish this though!! in science monday my friend was saying that he couldn't believe i didnt have a date yet and i said that no one has asked me so he was like 'you wanna come with me?' and i was like "sure!'' and the end. well not really but i dont want to type the rest of it, it would take to long, but that's the gist of it. so yeah we're just going as friends
-britt he's still all yours!- and today i asked him if he was really serious about going and he still said that he was so i guess that means i still have a "date". (the fun part is dress shopping! im going saturday!)

third: tomorrow there's NO SCHOOL!!! so jared, caleb, heather, dani, julie and michael (i think) and i are having a party! jared, caleb and my birthdays are all 9 or so days apart so at band camp we were like "hey we should do a party for the three of us!" and now are! so that'll be fun.

so after i cut my hair it wasnt curling like it used to, but yesterday (14th) i put it up in a clip for church and when i took it out at home it was curly!! so i had to get some pictures of myself :)

i have another one but my eyes look really creepy so im not using it!!

rain rain go away...

friday was a football game so of course i had to go...

so i get there around 4pm or so and kind of hang out and make sure i had everything and what not and then we all reported to the auditorium for warm up. then our director went to check if it was still raining... it was! anyway we had to be on the field for pre game so we all walked out of the nice dry auditorium into the wet and foggy outside. we walk around the track surrounding the field and waited (in the rain) for directions. minutes go by and i can barely read my music because the rain was covering the plastic and going through to ruin the highlighter marks i had made! but we play and we march off the field. we sit in the bleachers and i get my drum situated and then our director says okay its raining hard enough we need to go to the gym. so we went to the gym. drum line went to the small gym and practiced a cadence and then hung out there while everyone else was in the big gym, we had lots of fun though :) but then half time comes. we walk out to the visitors side to get ready with 5 minutes and some odd seconds on the clock (and anyone who watches football knows that 5 minutes = about 10 minutes. especially here.) so we are getting soaked! and so are our instruments. but then our moment finally comes. we walk on the field, drum line playing the beginning to "Respect" (one of the two songs we were going to play) and then we begin the show we have been working on since band camp. now we (concert band) hadn't done it with the symphonic band since... our first show, but that was in blocks so really the last time we had done formations with them was band camp (concert band had practiced formations during band 2nd hour though) so it was a relief to have the full band to play with! especially for us drum line members! we did really well in spite of the rain and marched off field on clicks and went back to the band room and we were done. after the game was the Yearbook Dance- which i was planning on attending, but i ended up spending the night at Heather's (HR) instead :) but yeah it was a pretty fun and wet day all in all, and i think we did pretty well so im happy!! our next game is the 26th- Homecoming!!!

weekend

so this week end i planned on just hanging out at my house doing nothing, but that didnt happen! friday around 6 or so my friend Caleb called me up asking if i wanted to come over and hang out at his house with Haley, Korynne, Toby, Molly and Thomas. so i asked my mom and she said i could! my mom picks up haley and drops us off around 6:30 and haley's mom was going to bring me back around 11 or so. well we played ping-pong, pool, listened to music, hung out, ate pizza and the best watermelon ever, and then settled in to watch a movie- Sweeny Tod (!!). caleb's parents watched it with us and his mom didnt like the blood too much! but we all agreed that the music is amazing. after the movie we went back down stairs and played more ping-pong until haley's mom came to get molly, me and of course haley. so we said our good byes and got in the car. on the way to my house we decided that i should spend the night at haley's with molly and my mom actually let me so i got my stuff and we went to haley's. we stayed up late talking before finally falling asleep. i got home saturday around 10 and then slept practically the rest of the day! but it was lots of fun. today is Gear Up, but i think i might have gotten out of going and other than that i am really going to do nothing until i have to get ready for bed and school tomorrow!

stuff

i know i know i was supposed to post this last night but i couldn't :( so Aly i am sending you an email instead ok?!!

so our church does this thing every year called Gear Up and it's tomorrow. i have worked the last... 2 or 3(?) but this year i decided that i wasn't going to so i'm not! but any way... i am going to get ready for bed. NIGHT!!

TGIF :)

IT'S FRIDAY!! i have spent 3 1/2 days now as a highschooler and it's pretty sweet! i have at least talked to all my friends (older ones- i am lucky enough to be with all my awesome freshman friends almost all day!!) at least once and have had only... 4 comments about my dad [none of which were like mean or anything :) ] but now i'm glad it's the weekend. i have just a little bit of history homework that shouldn't take too long and i should probably do soon... but other than that i will just hang out and relax, finally. today was a really good day, well they all have been, but anyhoo, in math today we had a funeral. yep a funeral. "I CAN'T" died today. what she had us do was write down all of our "i can'ts" and put them in a shoe box, then we went outside and she had three holes dug (one for every class i guess) and we put our shoe box in one of them and she read a(n) eulogy and everything! it was pretty funny. also it was picture day (my picture isn't horrible but not as good as i wanted) and so i took extra care to make sure my hair and what not were all pretty and good only to get to band 2nd hour and have to go outside in the WIND!! so my hair- i think- looks kinda funky or whatever, like it kind of flips out along the sides or something, i don't know, but it's not as straight and pretty as it was in the morning. oh well...
oh to keep you all informed of my busy life:

• there's a drama meeting on Wednesday the 10th (it will be the 2nd one i go too)
• my birthday is the 11th (go me!!)
• football game and yearbook dance is on the 12th (marching band...)
• no school on the 17th (yeah!!)
• football game and homecoming on the 26th
• Parma Day on the 27th (parade, marching band...)

yup that's what September looks like for me!

first full day of school

so it's just the second day back and today i've already stayed after til five because of a student council meeting! i'm not complaining because i really want to do council but still! tomorrow i'm staying after again because i am already signed up for the homecoming "formal committee" which is meeting thursday. but my first full day was good! it drug on like no other but then again once it was sixth hour i was saying "man it's almost time to go already?" i really like all my teachers especially my last hour history teacher! he is SO much fun :)!!! i still don't really know what to think about my english teacher though... kind of strange but at the same time sort of cool... i don't know. well my sister is bugging me for the computer so i guess i'm done now!!

A New Chapter...

i like to think of my life as being a big book being written by God. so, like in every book, there are chapters in my life: infant, toddler, walking, pre-school, first day of kindergarten to the end of 2nd grade, 3rd grade to 5th grade, middle school, and today marked the beginning of the chapter i want to call "the best days of my life (aka high school)". YEAH ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!



today was the first day of school. something i've both dreaded and longed for all summer. but now it's here! i- being the organized and paranoid person i am- have gone through my schedule several times and even more times just in my head (weird yes, effective YEAH!) so i was on top of things knowing exactly where to go when and how to get there. but let me back up a bit. so i wake up an hour or so before my alarm but i think i fell back asleep eventually and then at 5:43 my phone alarm goes off telling me to do my devotions (something i want to do every morning from now on) and radio alarm as well (i like music!) so i do my devos and then my phone alarm goes off again telling me to get in the shower and start getting ready for the day. im ready to go around 7am or so and we left around 7:15. Tessa was practically hyperventilating she was so nervous and Brooklyn- though not as bad- was pretty nervous too. me? i had butterflies and my stomach kind of hurt- which happens all the time like before i go on stage for example- but i didnt show it. i was excited! so i get there and go to the auditorium lobby to get my final schedule which luckily was exactly the same as before. after that i went to my locker and talk to some friends. the Student Council President (a senior guy who happens to be one of my friends) came along so i said hi to him and gave him my "application" for council then i ran into one of my other senior guy friends who walked my 1/2 way to my first class. but then the day really began. as of this moment i like all my teachers. my history and geography teacher is so funny and so cool, by math teacher is awesome, my science teacher is funny, and my English teacher seems really cool also. i already know that i like my choir and band teacher.directors so i have all great teachers this year! (PE is the only exception, but not as of now). i am so excited about finally being in the high school! i heard that there's a drama meeting next week and try outs are soonish after so i am SOOO super excited that im surprised im not jumping out of my seat! and thats it for now.

by the way...

3 days. today (saturday), sunday, monday. thats it. no more excuses about not wanting to go back to school shopping now huh?!?! well im ready and not even that nervous anymore. in the words of a good friend, "we're there to learn. nothing else." smart friend huh?! maybe i should keep him around...
but seriously where did the time go? i can still remember kindergarten for goodness sakes! sitting on the rug for story time, nap time (which by the way, kids don't want nap time! teens do! they don't fit that into our schedules!), playing power rangers with my best friend Evan, sharks in hot lava at recess. good times. i remember looking up to the "big kids" thinking i'll never get that old... will i?? but here i am. the big kid. always felt so far away but no it really isn't. life is short and goes by too fast so you have to cherish it with all your heart. every time i look at Kelle's blog i think "that was me 13, 14 years ago. i was that little learning to walk. and now im almost 15!" and also that, "that will be me in like 8-10 years!" i mean it seems so far away but the past 8 years went by in a blur and they keep telling me highschool goes by faster than ever. time is something you can't get back. so i say make every minute of it count.

the game

so so close!! the WHS football team lost 20-27 on Thursday but it was a REALLY good game! the half time show was pretty good too... :)
like i said i was pretty nervous about the whole first game thing but i actually did really well! it was really crazy because we were expected to do stuff that we (freshman) had never done or practiced: stand in block formation (went well), make a tunnel for the football team (crazy but i thought for a first time of never having done it it went really well) and the stand songs (songs we play in the bleachers which were easy to pick up on). but i thought i did great! i had the worst headache though and it started before we left and ended once i was sleeping. i felt totally drained as the drumline was practicing and stacey was all pumped and jumping around. i told her she needed to give me some of that energy!!! but then we got on the field and i was relaxed and focused and knew what i had to do and i did it! the next game is the 12th (day after my bday!) and we actually have to do our formations and stuff... scary!!! well thats about it!

Football, and base drums, and hallways oh my!

our first official game is today at like 7pm or so. i am so nervous it'll probably make me sick! i really dont know my part that well and being in drumline means that you cant just pretend to play. thankfully we dont have to march- just play in block formation- so that takes alot of my nervousness (if thats a word...) away! so yeah i better go practice before i leave.

oh yesterday was the 6th grade instrument rental night and i helped out like i have for... 3 years now i think. and my friend and i also went through our schedules so we feel more comfortable on the first day of school (4 days). so we went through mine pretty fast- i've done it several times now and feel better about it- but then we went through dani's and it took longer... for one we went up and down every hallway in the school i think trying to find one of her classes only to discover that it was right by her locker! genius! and then we went through it a second time.

oh! also my choir teacher of two years married my band director of 3 years! im so happy for them and it was really fun to catch up with her. (sad side note: i dont have her as my choir teacher anymore now that im in hs and when we have choir she's in the ms doing another class so i'll only see her like before and after school).
i think thats about it!

Whoa!

ok i just realized that school starts next week! yeah and i even named my last post "7 days left" and everything but i didnt even realize that that means school starts NEXT WEEK! 6 day! what?!?!?! and that means that my birthday is like 2 weeks away (a week after school starts on thursday)!! wow! time really does fly! i'll put up my birthday list this week... just incase! okay well i feel like a blonde now so im done! see ya!

7 days left

So i went school shopping and feel more and more ready to be at school everyday. k im still a little nervous but i'll get over it within a week of school- maybe less! being a highschooler both excites me and makes me look at myself and say "wait a minute didn't i just finish 7th grade?!" life is going by fast and highschool goes by even faster so i hear. im just scared that i... i dont know its confusing. i really want to take every advantage being a teenager has because i know it'll only happen once and i dont want to look back on my highschool years later on and say "why didnt i do that?!" you know? im really excited though. my mom asked me what i look forward to most about highschool. my answer was easy: drama. and then of course choir and band (though im still not sure i like marching band all that much) and then being with all the people i've known for 2 years (well not really 2 full ones but you know!) from drama. a friend who graduated when i was in 7th grade that i met through WHS's Fiddler on the Roof told me at the end of our 1st marching band show for parents and such said that he's been waiting for me to be in highschool for 2 years. that makes me feel good. and when i was working with Fiddler another guy (who was a senior as well) swore he thought i was a junior or something! i heard that some people were actually saying "where's chloe" "why dont i see her around school" when i was in 7th grade!! im really excited. today i had to get my concert band uniform fitted. its a dress. a black one in fact. i guess its not quite as bad i thought... but afterwords my mom and i ran through my schedule and i did my combination (actually thats what im most nervous about getting to and from classes and trying to remember my com!) i also met my math teacher who seems really nice and fun. im staring to get used to the idea of being 15 as well. that still kind of scares me. i mean 15?! seems to old. 1/2 way to 30 as a good friend told me (thanks alot). but again i cant wait. lots of things will be different in hs then ms so it'll take a while to adjust probably but i think i'll be okay. well i think that about wraps it up! see ya!

okay just a quick numbers update is all today oh except that i finally went to the secretary of state and am now a licensed driver (well level 1 anyway!)!!! yeah so anyhoo:
counting today: 12 days till school starts!! and i havent even gone school shopping yet!
counting today: 21 days till my 15th BIRTHDAY!! (bday list will follow a few weeks before!!)

yep! pretty exciting! i cant wait for highschool! i hope to take every opportunity i can in the next four years before college (now there's a scary though!!)

k im really gonna do it!! im going to get my haircut today at 4pm and its not just a trim. i'll try to do pictures if i have time (or can get my mom to help me!)!! also im actually going to the secretary of state today, we've been putting it off and forgetting but now i cant drive until i go soooooooooo...
and tomorrow is freshman registration and orientation!!

SUMMER PARTY!!

our summer party was on friday/saturday and it was a blast! everyone had a good time and it was just so much fun! we went swimming in our neighbors/ my friends pool (he was invited of course!), did face painting, a hula- hoop contest (i totally lost!!), played [extreme] red rover (dangerous game- im really sore and in pain right now!), played the name game, played apples to apples, and just hung out from 1-8pm, which was when the guys (or Harold) left and Matt stayed till about 9:30 or so since he lives next door. aly and i were talking about it saturday when the rest of the girls left (we slept in a tent in my back yard) and we were both really happy with how it turned out. there was this relaxed, do what ever we want, comfortable, happy atmosphere the whole time- start to finish, and we both laughed at how well matt and harold got along (which is kinda hard to explain to people who dont know our group well but they are completely different, but know each other, but arent the type of friends who would like go over to each others house or what ever.) over all i wish the party never had to end. i love my friends so much and it was a so much fun to spend 8+ hours with them!!

VBS

so our church has a Vacation Bible School every summer that i usually help out with with the little kids. this year, however, i am on the worship team! it has been such a blast working this week that i'll be sad when its over on thursday :( the band is awesome and so are the actual people and our back stage "Tec Krew" guy John is pretty sweet too! our jr high youth pastor Kara is the Commodore Pirate and does an amazing job as always and the other two pirates are so funny! yep i've had lots of good times being a part of SAFMC's VBS this week!!

Egg Drop Soup, bread, milk and Greese, what's better?!

seriously!! egg drop soup is sooooo good. i got hungry and made some for... dinner i guess it'd be. and soaking a piece of bread in it with a cold glass of milk... heaven. but there's no heaven unless you add Greese to the scene!! which i did of course. Greese is like my favorite musical/movie ever!! well i guess thats not completely true because i also love Phantom of the Opera, Oklahoma, State Fair, Fiddler on the Roof, Sound of Music, Hairspray, Sussical, Music Man, High School Musical (1&2), Sweeney Todd, the new Camp Rock movie, and OF COURSE Wicked!! as well as more that i cant think of. i absolutely LOVE musicals!! they are so much fun to watch and even more fun to be a part of! i totally recommend all the ones i listed to any one- well Sweeney Todd you probably dont want to show to kids, lots of blood. but yeah! so thats what i've been doing... not very interesting but oh well, im easily amused.

so it is now 9:00 pm and i've been alone for about 3 hours.

i'll think of something to blog about... umm...well theres...no...yeah i've got nothin'. i'll come back in a few hours or so and maybe i'll have something then...

home alone

one thing about being home alone is being alone. and that's what i am for the rest of the day! everyone went to east lansing to see family and maybe go to the music festival thing so im home doing what ever i can think of doing until they decide to come home. the only bad part is that they dont want me to go to the party next door :( :(

the fair

so wednesday and today i went to the fair! the first time i just walked around like everyone else and saw the horses, pigs, cows, ducks, chickens, rabbits, sheep, goats, and everything else which was fun but today i went back and rode with my friend Amanda!! it was fun and she helped and critiqued me which is good. so yeah i think that it ends this weekend but you should definitely come out for a while!! you dont have to stay for six hours like my friend did though :)

from literally the first song till we were already on the road coming home i was so choked up i couldnt believe it! like it was so powerful and amazing! and wow!!! i mean even their set changes are incredible!! i'd like to know how they do it!! but maybe thats just the tech in me... well maybe not. anyway it was absolutely incredible like blow your mind amazing. i would spend like $1000+ to see it over and over and over again!! oh i've made up my mind that im going on Broadway and i'll get the part of Elphaba and go all over the place!!

im SOOOO excited i don't think i'll sleep well tonight!lol! i absolutely LOVE the music- which i now have on my ipod and have been listening to for two days straight- and some of my friends have already seen it and said that it is amazing! woo hoo!! okay i'll try to calm down....

Range

well i found out what range is! yep saturday and sunday from 3-5pm i was in the career center parking lot driving 5 mph around the "streets" marked off my cones. we weren't allowed to use the radio (oops) or the A/C (oops) and it was really boring! oh well at least i'll be mailed my green slip soon!!

I'm DONE!

wow what a crazy week! to start, driver's training is done!!! i took the 80 question test on thursday and missed 2! best in the class!! i was so excited! but more excited that i don't have to go back until i take segment 2. then band week was monday through thrursday. i had a really good time overall! but oh man after the first day i was so sore and so much in pain i felt like i was going to fall over! i went home and took a bunch of ibuprofen, then took a shower and went to bed. next day i put my harness and drum back on and it was even worse then the first day with the bruises not completely healed yet and all. after that day though i guess my body adjusted to it and i didnt hurt as badly. id have to say that the best part of band week was seeing all my friends again, my grade and up. having Jessie in drumline made everything fun too!! i almost felt like it was Young Americans all over again in a sense; learning a whole show in X amount of days, in YA's it was 2 days but we had four days to learn the marching season songs and moves. thursday was our first "show" and it went pretty well i thought- even though i went the wrong direction at one point in a song :<>
yesterday my friend Dani from the U.P. came down with her dad, sisters and friend. it was really nice to see her again! we hung out at our house till a little after 8 when i went to britt's house for a movie party that i ended up leaving early from :( that was sooo much fun! we watched Superhero Movie which is pretty much the funniest movie ever made. today i have range which i really dont know what it is, something with drivers ed though. so im getting picked up in less than an hour. and i have it again tomorrow same time (3-5) after that i get my green slip which means that i can go to the secretary of state to get my learners license!! watch out people im driving now!!!

This week

hey! this is the "big week" that will either make me crack under pressure or keep me fully entertained for four days. yep its band week. not just band week though, mind you, i also still have drivers ed from 8-10am for the next four days- the last day i take the big test to see if i can get my license, as well as band week from 10am-9pm!!! that all adds up to a 13 hour day. i am really nervous about band week but im also kind of excited because i'll see all my friends again! and that will (hopefully) make it all worth it :) well i guess i'd better get to bed so i can be all ready for tomorrows adventures!

summer days

hey everyone! hope you're having a great summer so far!

my summer has been somewhat uneventful so far but its still been fun. like i said before, my friend aly and i are planning our summer party that will take place august 15th and i cant wait!! also i mentioned drivers training, well that starts next Wednesday!!!! i cant wait! my parents have let me drive around in the school parking lot recently and today my dad even let me drive home from my gpa gallogly's house! well from Regal to parking in the driveway, but still!
yesterday- the 4th of July- i went to my cousin korynne's house for their annual fireworks show thing which was really fun, but it was also my dad's birthday, and today is my mom's!! yep now my parents are 41... old right!!lol!! also my friends from KY are up till the 7th! i haven't seen them in a year or so now so it's really good to have them here! well i think thats all...

summer

hey everyone! it's finally SUMMER!!!! the last week of school was pretty crazy for me, with exams and the talent show, but its all over now and im a FRESHMAN now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i absolutely cannot wait for highschool. i'll get to see all my friends and actually be in the drama performances! so with summer here i am both excited and sad. i love school and always have, i love being able to see my friends 5 days a week and i love having something to do everyday. im relieved that summer is here though because i can have nothing to do everyday for a while, but im already kinda ready for school to start, sad i know. so im planning our annual summer party with my friend aly now and i have drivers training and band camp in july. see ya later!

wat's up

hey! i'm a week from skool being out and am SO ready to be a highskooler now! our last band and choir concert went great and i found out im playing bass drum (2nd to smallest) in drumline!! exams are coming up so im getting abit stressed out, i'll be ready when thats all over. so my cousins are over! im having fun but getting tired. oh i couldnt wear a tie for the band concert, i was so mad! it doesnt even make sense! in band now though we're doing stuff to get ready for marching band next yr and band camp this summer. oh! i get to take driver's training this July!! im super excited. k i think thats about it. see ya!

Drumline!!

so my audition went pretty well! Pete kept telling me that i was doing great so ill take his word for that. i wasnt nervous once i got to school at all so that was good. basically i had to play 3 pieces or so from the audtion packet we got at the beginning and then 2 sightreading pieces. it really wasnt hard but i messed up a few times. the posting isnt up yet so we still dont know what we're on :(

Drumline!!

k so im going to my drumline audition soon and im actually not nervous... yet. our instructor Pete is really cool so i dont mind playing for him! i will try out for the bass drum!! tell all tomorrow!

NJHS

hey people! so yesterday was this National Jr Honors Society induction ceremony thing for the upcoming 8th graders, and i had to sing the National Anthem!! (not by my self luckily, haley, mollly and danielle sang too) molly and i sang the alto line and haley and danielle sang the melody and i was super excited! the one thing was that my voice had been shot for the past 2 weeks and i was afraid that my voice would crack or something which would have been bad since i sing loud... the other was that molly and i couldnt look at each other without cracking up-not good for this song! but we did it and i thought it was pretty good. after the ceremony we helped with the refreshments and such in the cafeteria which was kinda fun. the whole thing kinda frustrated me because it wasnt put together well at all and im a big time perfectionist when it comes to things like that, but the past is behind us so i'll just have to move on.

Spring Break

This spring break i was lucky enough to get to go to Mammoth Cave which is in KY with my grandparents and my cousin. There is no way possible to fully describe the largest cave system with one of 20 words, but it was incredible! just being in this old cave gives u the most awesome feeling that cant be put into words. well we drove the 8 hours to the cave in a smallish car with 4 people- 2 hyper or sleeping kids and 2 fun grandparents. it was amazingly a fun drive both ways though we were really hyper for part of the last stretch home! but i could live in that cave it is so cool! my cousin and i almost had an entire movie that we talked out that we wanted to be placed in the cave and it would have been cool too! the cave and the bottom of the ocean are the only places in the world that u can hear complete silence. one man got lost exploring the cave and said that it was so quiet that after a while he could hear his own heartbeat and the blood rushing behind his ears. he began banging rocks together so when the people found him they said what a great idea it was for him to hit the rocks for them, he said he couldn't take the silence! and it really is silent and pitch black down 200 odd feet below the ground. on our 1st tour we ate lunch in the cave! not everyone can say they ate lunch 200 feet below the earths surface now can they?! so yeah this trip is one of my favorite ones for sure!

Easter!

Well Carrin, I'm writing in my blog just for you!!
I had so much fun over the Easter break!! My cousins came down from Lansing and we all had so much fun! there was awesome food and lots of laughs. I even got a new name "Shlo" from my awesome cousin like person, well he married my 2nd cousin so yeah. I love Easter so much! Can you imagine giving up your only son because you want someone else so much to be with you? oh i sure cant. but thats what happened! God loved us so much that he gave his only son so that we could be with him forever in heaven.

BAND FEST!!

So every year our band goes to festival to be judged on the pieces we've worked on as well as sight reading. Last year it was fun, we (perucussionists) got our own bus that was full of our instruments and everyone else's too, and we got straight 1's!! so I was excited to go again this year. So we get there and we go to the "scene shop" to get the instruments we need and set up the stage. We discover that we didn't have a xylophone! Luckily they had one on stage so we were good. Everything goes well and we get through our first piece, we called it "March" (as in walking, not the month) with few problems. Then the next one, "Irish", and then "Dorian" is next and my friend looks at me and says we didn't get the woodblock! After a 3-5 minute wait he's back on, we start the piece and we exit the stage. Thankfully we get an overall 1 from the judges and were the only 8th grade band to get a 1 in sightreading! Thanks Mrs. McInchak!!

CRAZY DAYZ

Have you ever had one of thoseweeks that when it's over you just say "YES!"? Well that's kinda how this week has been. It's only Wednesday and I'm wery much looking forward to Friday!! Today was a 1/2 day which was very nice, but once the school bell rang (even a bit b4) I was at work. My first task was to clean out smelly milk cartons (ew!) that smelled awful! Lucky for me my best friend came along to help. Then I had to get some papers to my NJHS advisor, which I ended up giving to some of my other friends to give to her. Before the bell rang for 1st period I still had to explain a penny war that our skool is doing to help Darfur, Africa (http://www.savedarfur.com/) to 2 classes. So after all that running around I still had to go to band and all my other classes. What a day!!
