wow. i can't believe i have to go to school tomorrow. i mean i love school, school is my home, my haven even, but that was Western...
now i get to start over in a new school with lots and lots of people i dont know. all my hard work in WHS drama has been dashed away and i have to go ground up all over again. i have to let everybody "figure me out" and adapt to the new ways of doing things. i can agree that change can be a good thing on some levels. example i just got my hair cut and styled differently and i like it a lot. but Western has been my home for what seems like forever now and its unbelievably hard to leave it. i wanted the graduates i know to be able to come back to a show and say "wow i knew her when she was in 7th, 8th, 9th grade" and see how much i've grown. now i have to be the one coming back for shows.
dont get me wrong, its not all bad in Houghton Lake. i like it here a lot actually. i've met some pretty cool people and i love the chance to meet new friends. and everyone is really nice.
but the things that became really close to my heart (because of people) at Western- band, choir, drama- are very different here. they dont even have a choir for one. the band has been a good place for me to meet people and make friends, and im trying to give it a chance to hold a place in my heart as Western's has, but it will take a while... and dont even get me started on the "drama"program.
its gonna take me a while to adjust i know. and i am going to jump head-first into everything and give it a chance. but its really hard sometimes.

Ah - such a bummer that they don't have a choir! Tessa said they didn't have cross country either :( It must be strange there...
Maybe they have some weird and cool clubs that they didn't have at Western - like a poultry club or something, haha (that's the first thing that came to my mind, is there something wrong with how much I like chickens?!?!). Sending you hugs!! xoxo :)
Poultry club...great idea. :o) Molly and I think alike! No choir??? How can that be? Well, it's time to find a private voice teacher. Seriously. I'll talk with your parents about it. See you next weekend!
